We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Director, Workplace Relations, Performance and Conduct. This is a key leadership role that will provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and staff on a broad range of employment issues, complex workplace relations matters, and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality specialist advice to senior management and technical advice and education to staff on employment issues, workplace relations, and relevant legislation.
  • Identify, design, and develop innovative strategies to improve departmental outcomes when managing complex sensitive people matters, staff engagement, and workplace consultation.
  • Represent the department in dealings with unions, tribunals, external jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to avoid disputes or achieve positive outcomes and resolutions.
  • Assist and support the research, development, management, and implementation of enterprise agreements, HR Policies, and employment contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, processes, and better practice.
  • Lead, motivate, and gain the commitment of others in achieving a workplace relations focus responsive to contemporary issues and changes in workplace practices.
  • Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships, liaise and effectively negotiate with key stakeholders including senior management, staff, industrial organisations, and external agencies.
  • Prepare written material including executive briefs and corporate documentation for review by senior staff in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
  • Highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in workplace relations, performance, and conduct.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
