Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and ambitious individuals who are eager to take on the role of Restaurant Service Manager and contribute to the success of our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our restaurants across regional Australian locations outside of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide exceptional service to external and internal guests at all times, ensuring a memorable experience for every customer.
  • To guarantee that Team Members maintain efficient food and beverage service within their designated sections, anticipating guest needs before being asked.
  • To allocate duties among Team Members, promoting rotation of job tasks and maximizing productivity.
  • To conduct pre-service and post-service briefings, as required.
  • To assist the Head of Department in providing comprehensive inductions to new Team Members, ongoing training, and attending formal training sessions.
  • To support the Head of Department in preparing training plans for Team Members and conducting on-the-job training sessions.
  • To participate in Performance Development Appraisals of Team Members when required.
  • To maintain par levels and order stock as needed.
  • To monitor rosters according to legislation and business requirements, ensuring the department is staffed appropriately and operating within budgetary guidelines.
  • To have a thorough understanding of relevant licensing and operating legislation affecting the department, including the Liquor Act.
  • To complete operational reports daily, establishing workable records of department history for future forecasting.
  • To ensure food items offered meet consistent standards and provide feedback to the Chef regarding sales, wastage, menu changes, or special requests.
  • To establish and maintain open communication channels between departments, particularly the kitchen, to ensure smooth department operation.
  • To guarantee the department is consistently ready for service at scheduled operating times.
  • To perform reconciliation of daily takings.
  • To ensure Team Members possess strong product knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation of all menu items and buffet offerings.
  • To ensure Team Members have extensive product knowledge of wine styles on the outlet wine list.
  • To ensure adherence to opening and closing procedures to an acceptable standard.
  • To promptly report any maintenance work required in the vicinity of the outlet to the Head of Department.
  • To provide accurate information to guests about property facilities and features.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current RSA possession is essential.
  • Strong understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Able to work effectively as a well-rounded team player and leader.

Additional Information

Compensation Package: Base hourly rate $28.87 equivalent to $57,047.12 - $67,000 based on working days and penalties applicable as per the Hospitality Industry General Award.
