Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled Clinician to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for accepting accountability for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents, and their families with mental health issues. They will address any inconsistencies between practice and policy, ensuring optimal consumer care and focusing on achieving the best possible health and recovery outcomes for consumers.

The Clinician will provide assessment, education, counselling, and group work as essential components of care, consulting and liaising with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organizations to support consumer care.

In addition, they will use clinical knowledge, skills, and experience to support and educate staff, leading and participating in research, quality improvement, and policy development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • To foster multidisciplinary relationships and work collaboratively with individuals and families.
  • To utilise clinical expertise to support and educate staff members.
  • To participate in research, quality improvement, and policy development initiatives.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree/registration/qualification for the discipline.
  • Extensive clinical experience in treating and managing complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and families.
