Medical Specialist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

We are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Senior Level Professional to join our team in Child and Adolescent or Youth Mental Health. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work across multiple sites and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mental health services.
About the RoleThis mid-senior level role is part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team and involves providing expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service. You will be working closely with other medical professionals and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service.
- Work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites.
- Contribute to research relevant to the role and needs of the Department.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
- Demonstrated subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent or Youth Mental Health.
- Continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Proven capacity and experience in providing high-quality service in the specialty.
- Teaching and mentoring experience in undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
- Senior-level medical practitioner skills and attitudes, including professional behaviour modelling.
This is a temporary part-time position for a period of 6 months, but has the possibility of being extended without further advertisement or interview.
