Part-time Family Counsellor Role

Job Description

As a Family Counsellor, you will be working with individuals, children, and families impacted by family violence and trauma.

Key focus areas include supporting family law matters, communication, parenting, relationships, and grief and loss.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out individual counselling and group programs.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all clients within the parameters of duty of care.
  • Attending and contributing to program meetings and professional development.
  • Ensuring that clinical and administrative standards are maintained in accordance with our policies.

A commitment to child safety is essential for this role. You will need to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders, manage complex needs, and respond to critical incidents with professionalism and care.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled professional who holds:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work (AASW membership), Psychology (AHPRA registration), or Counselling (degree-qualified with ACA or PACFA membership).
  • Extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families impacted by family violence and trauma.
  • Knowledge and practice in TF-CBT, or a strong willingness to be trained in this approach.
