System Test Engineer Role:

  • Responsible for comprehensive testing of telecom mediation and billing systems to ensure accurate usage data collection and processing.
  • Validates data integrity and accuracy across Call Detail Records (CDRs), mediation systems, and downstream billing platforms.
  • Conducts regression, functional, and system integration testing for mediation and billing modules.
  • Identifies and reports data discrepancies or transformation issues in mediation systems.
  • Develops detailed test cases, test plans, and executes testing cycles based on system requirements and business rules.
  • Performs root cause analysis on billing issues and collaborates with development, operations, and business teams to resolve defects.
  • Simulates different usage scenarios to validate correct mediation processing and billing outputs.
  • Automates validation and verification steps using scripts or tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Shell).
  • Participates in requirement reviews and provides test effort estimation and feedback.
  • Documents testing results, maintains logs, and contributes to knowledge base documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in telecom billing, mediation, or data verification roles.
  • Strong understanding of telecom mediation systems, CDR processing, and billing flows.
  • Hands-on experience with CDR parsing, validation, and transformation.
  • Familiarity with tools like HP ALM, JIRA, Postman, SOAP UI, or other QA/test management platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with billing platform Oracle BRM & Comptel Mediation
  • Knowledge of 3G/4G/5G, prepaid/postpaid systems, and usage types (voice, data, SMS).
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
