About the Role

A telecom billing and mediation professional is needed to conduct end-to-end testing for telecom systems, ensuring accurate data collection and processing.

  • Testers will validate data integrity and accuracy across call detail records (CDRs), mediation systems, and downstream billing platforms.
  • They will perform regression, functional, and system integration testing for mediation and billing modules.
  • Key responsibilities include identifying and reporting data discrepancies or transformation issues in mediation systems.
  • Testers will create detailed test cases, test plans, and execute testing cycles based on system requirements and business rules.
  • They will analyze billing issues and work closely with development, operations, and business teams to resolve defects.
  • Simulating different usage scenarios to validate correct mediation processing and billing outputs is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Automating validation and verification steps using scripts or tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Shell) is essential for efficient testing.
  • Participating in requirement reviews and providing test effort estimation and feedback is also required.
  • Documenting testing results, maintaining logs, and contributing to knowledge base documentation are key responsibilities.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in telecom billing, mediation, or data verification roles.
  • A strong understanding of telecom mediation systems, CDR processing, and billing flows is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with CDR parsing, validation, and transformation is required.
  • Familiarity with tools like HP ALM, JIRA, Postman, SOAP UI, or other QA/test management platforms is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with billing platform Oracle BRM & Comptel Mediation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3G/4G/5G, prepaid/postpaid systems, and usage types (voice, data, SMS) is desirable.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is an asset.
