Strategic Business Development Lead for Corporate M&A, Capital Markets

About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Development Lead to lead the business development function for our Corporate M&A, Capital Markets & Tax practice groups within the Advisory & Transactions Stream.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive business growth and client engagement. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, managing relationships with clients and stakeholders, and developing market-leading client engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the Corporate M&A, Capital Markets & Tax practice groups in alignment with the Advisory & Transactions Stream's strategic objectives;
- Identify client/new work opportunities, emerging products and service areas, and market development opportunities and work with senior stakeholders to pursue these;
- Develop and execute market-leading client engagement opportunities;
- Provide valuable insights to key stakeholders on market trends and industry developments;
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to implement the firm's strategy; and,
- Communicate the value proposition of our services to heighten understanding among stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (business/legal/finance) coupled with legal/client development experience gained from a professional services environment;
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and proactively;
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate effectively;
Strong project management skills and a proactive, pragmatic approach;
Proven leadership skills, including people/team management;
Resilience and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances;
The estimated salary for this role is AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
