Industrial and Employee Relations Professional

Advocate for front-line leadership teams in managing employment-related issues, promoting a culture of collaboration and service excellence.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of employee relations matters, providing fast-paced and high-quality ER advice, coaching, and investigation support to our line leaders and HR team. This autonomous role will involve conducting end-to-end investigations into various ER matters, preparing documents and responses for tribunal cases, representing the organization at conciliations and dispute matters, and supporting EA negotiations with employee and union bargaining representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a caseload, providing ER advice, coaching, and investigation support to line leaders and HR team members.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into grievances, bullying, harassment, fraud, or misconduct cases.
  • Preparing documents and responses for tribunal cases, including Fair Work Commission matters.
  • Representing the organization at conciliations and dispute matters in tribunals.
  • Supporting employees with complex matters involving illness or injury.
  • Providing leaders with training, recommendations, coaching, and advice on legislation, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience in a human resources generalist or employee relations professional position in medium to large-sized organizations.
  • Proven background in managing or supporting investigations into misconduct, grievances, or protected disclosures.
  • Excellent coaching, negotiation, and influencing skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant ER/IR legislation and application in policy, including experience with the Fair Work Commission.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, along with a commercial orientation.
  • Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities and time-sensitive cases.
