Role Summary:
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive a comprehensive and supportive educational experience. You will work collaboratively with educators and other specialists to foster an inclusive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a UK Primary School setting.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service is preferred.
- Experience with children who have SEND in educational or similar environments.
- Strong understanding of various SEND conditions and effective support strategies.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to student success.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEND on an individual or small group basis.
- Assist in lesson planning and delivery, modifying materials and teaching methods as necessary.
- Support students with personal care and mobility requirements as needed.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to educators and families.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement.
