Welcome to Prospero Teaching's Special Education roles. We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our inclusive teaching teams in Melbourne.


These positions are ideal for Primary and Secondary Teachers looking to make a positive impact on students' lives. Even if you have no prior Special Education experience, we encourage you to apply.


As a Special Education Teacher with Prospero Teaching, you will play a crucial role in providing support and instruction to students with diverse needs. You will work closely with our student population, including those with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges.


Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in inclusive classroom settings, small groups, or one-on-one settings as needed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes diversity and mutual respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to address students' individualized needs.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust instructional strategies for continuous growth and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Bachelor of Primary Education.
  • Valid teaching certification VIT.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities, developmental disorders, and behavioural challenges, as well as evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
