Client Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Client Support Specialist with lived experience of recovery to work closely with individuals living with mental health concerns and/or disabilities.

As a valued member of our team, you will provide case coordination and support to help clients increase their independence, maintain their wellness, and improve the quality of their life.

The role involves utilising your unique experience of living with a mental illness to assist clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to better understand the recovery framework and achieve better outcomes for individuals. You will provide advice on incorporating lived experience into organisational policies and procedures, conduct one-on-one client facing work, and develop and implement client individual support plans using strengths-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on incorporating lived experience in organisational policies and procedures
  • Conduct one-on-one client facing work, including medication assistance, personal care, domestic assistance, and assisting clients in reaching their personal goals
  • Develop and implement client individual support plans using strengths-based practice
  • Maintain an environment that empowers service users and promotes positive behaviours, skills development, and independence

About You:

  • You identify as having a lived experience of recovery
  • You have personal experience as a mental health consumer
  • You have an understanding of lived experience concepts and contemporary research
  • You hold peer work or lived experience qualifications or training delivered by a professionally recognised organisation
  • You possess effective and professional interpersonal and communication skills
