Job Description

We are seeking a Support Worker to join our dedicated team, providing personalized 1:1 support to clients in the Gympie Region. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting older Australians in their homes through our Aged Care Home Care services. Your care and support will help our clients maintain their independence and quality of life.

  • Assisting clients with personal care, such as showering and toileting
  • Supporting household tasks including general cleaning and maintenance
  • Accompanying clients to medical appointments and outings
  • Assisting with grocery shopping and other errands
Key Responsibilities

Depending on client needs, you may be required to perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light cleaning
  • Assisting in achievement of goals and building of capacity
  • Transportation to, and assistance with, outings such as shopping or social activities
  • Maintaining and monitoring health and behaviour changes on an ongoing basis
  • Building rapport and collaborating effectively to establish positive relationships
Requirements

Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing or Community)

  • A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
  • Computer savvy: have a smart phone, computer or tablet and ability to document accurate notes about all support shifts
  • An Australian Driver's Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with a minimum of 2 doses
What We Offer
  • Permanent part time or Casual contracts depending on your location and availability
  • Minimum hourly rate of $34.58 ($43.23 Casual) plus Super (SCHADS Level 2.1 or higher depending on qualification held)
