About Our Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated individual to join our team as an Executive Culinary Trainee, working in the heart of Melbourne at one of our luxury hotels. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your culinary skills and learn from experienced chefs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team with food preparation and presentation, ensuring high-quality dishes for all service periods
  • Gain exposure to various service styles, including a la carte, buffet, room service, and functions
  • Rotate through different kitchens, including restaurant, events, and pastry
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
  • Develop flexible approach in adapting to guest requests
  • Liaise with Food and Beverage Attendants
  • Prepare food and mise en place
  • Work according to daily production sheets
  • Keep close control of portion size and wastage
  • Be actively involved in learning your trade
  • Conduct thorough after-service cleaning of equipment and working areas
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A genuine passion for food and cooking
  • Reliable, punctual, and meticulous with attention to detail
  • Currently studying or enrolled in a culinary program (2024/2025)
  • Willingness to learn and take instruction from experienced chefs
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Full working rights in Australia

Salary Information:
