Job Description:

Create and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with clients. The role is to oversee client portfolios, monitor service delivery, ensure customer satisfaction, and actively seek new opportunities. Emphasis is on relationship management, networking, and building trust within a client base.

The role also includes responsibility of securing new customers through proactive sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for assigned client account management matters.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and grow opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate progress of initiatives.
  • Develop new business with existing clients or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
  • Escalate challenging client requests or issues.
  • Prospect designated territories for sales opportunities.
  • Qualify commercial, political, and technical requirements.
  • Manage bid/proposal process.
  • Provide annual sales forecast for budgetary purposes.
  • Negotiate contracts to maximise profits.
  • Prompt submission of Visit Reports.

Travel Requirements: Extensive travel required within Australia and overseas, sometimes for prolonged periods.

Requirements:
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Familiarity with the maritime industry.
  • Proven experience as an Account Manager, Sales Manager, or in a customer-focused technical/commercial role.
  • Strong ability to network, communicate, and represent the company confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – approachable, sociable, and able to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts/projects at once.
  • General technical literacy.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools and MS Office (Excel in particular).
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices.
