Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Delivery Director to lead our technology delivery initiatives at Coates Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving strategic vision and translating organizational goals into delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Direction: Provide strategic direction aligning product vision, engineering roadmaps, and client needs, ensuring the smooth delivery of software programs of work.
  • Program Leadership: Lead the delivery of strategic technology projects and programs, ensuring effective management and realization of benefits.
  • Methodology and Governance: Establish and promote best practice methodologies and standards for enterprise delivery, including Agile frameworks, continuous improvement methodologies, and governance practices that enhance quality, efficiency, and speed.
  • Project Performance: Proactively monitor project performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions to ensure the success of projects and programs.
  • Budget and Forecasting: Ownership of budget and forecasting for enterprise delivery initiatives, including optimizing resource allocation, controlling costs, and ensuring financial sustainability across projects.
  • Technology Delivery: Develop, implement, and maintain technology delivery objectives, goals, and roadmaps aligned with Coates' strategy and vision.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage regularly with executive leadership and key stakeholders to align on the status and roadmap of the software portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Oversee and manage Technology Line 1 Risk, ensuring that all technology processes, including development and release cycles, comply with risk management frameworks and internal policies.
  • Release and Environment Management: Lead the Release and Environment Management function, ensuring the seamless deployment of software across environments, managing dependencies, and optimizing release schedules.
  • Business Analysis Practice: Leadership of the Business Analysis Practice.
  • Culture and Team Development: Promote a culture of performance and continuous improvement within the Delivery organization. Establish and manage project delivery teams with internal and external partner resources, ensuring the effectiveness of onshore and offshore delivery models where applicable. Mentor and develop a team of delivery leaders, focusing on personal growth opportunities, career ambitions, and coaching.
Requirements
  • Experience: 15+ years in Program Management and/or technology delivery with 5 years of experience leading large and complex technology portfolios.
  • Delivery Models: Experience in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid program delivery models.
  • Agile Principles: Demonstrated experience working with Agile principles, including an understanding of the values of individuals and interactions over process and tools.
  • Program Management: Extensive experience in running major programs with matrix reporting.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability in driving strategic vision and translating organizational goals into delivery strategy, aligning initiatives with business objectives.
  • C-Suite Engagement: Experience engaging with C-suite executives and presenting executive reports.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing budgets of $20m+.
  • Portfolio Management: Experience managing a large portfolio of up to 5 diverse projects of work.
