Job Description

Job Title: Program Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead our Customer Engagement Technology team within Consumer Technology at the Westpac Group. As a Program Director, you will be responsible for delivering complex programs of work that impact multiple business areas, ensuring robust approach and plans, leading a team of direct and indirect staff, and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Delivery: Ensure the successful definition, mobilisation, and delivery of complex programs of work that impact multiple business areas.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead a direct team of 15-20 project professionals and a virtual team of 40-50 people.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with and manage senior stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and they remain committed throughout the life-cycle of projects.
  4. Project Management: Manage multiple delivery responsibilities simultaneously, ensuring adherence to Enterprise methodologies and processes.
  5. Risk and Issue Management: Direct the identification, resolution/mitigation, monitoring, reporting, and escalation of risks and issues.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in the successful definition, mobilisation, and delivery of complex programs of work that impact multiple business areas.
  2. Experience in Banking & Technology is a must.
  3. Experience in end-to-end project delivery - business case development through to execution and implementation.
  4. Leadership experience of leading a direct team of 15-20 project professionals and a virtual team of 40-50 people.
  5. Experience engaging with and managing senior stakeholders.
  6. Experience managing multiple delivery responsibilities simultaneously.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  8. Strong strategic thinking capabilities to assist in aligning the program with Westpac's broader goals.
  9. Tertiary qualifications.

Desirable:

  1. Agile delivery experience.
  2. Project management certification (e.g. PMI, CSM).
