
Vulnerable Communities Support Specialist

The Department of Children and Families provides responsive, safe and quality services and programs that empower communities and improve social outcomes for all Territorians.
A frontline practitioner will form part of a dedicated team delivering integrated statutory and non-statutory welfare services to vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing individual, family and community issues
- Applying appropriate methods of intervention
- Delivering case work and case management services
- Undertaking statutory responsibilities under the Care and Protection of Children Act
Requirements:
- Completed tertiary qualification giving eligibility for membership of relevant professional associations
- Strong understanding of principles and functions of delivering welfare services
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop interventions and interpret complex legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner
