**About the Opportunity

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join the research group of Professor Andrea Morello. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in experimental quantum information processing.

The role involves conducting independent research with limited supervision, developing methods for the analysis and design of quantum computing hardware, and performing quantum measurements using high-frequency instruments. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising PhD and undergraduate students, as well as publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals.

This is a fixed-term contract position, renewable for up to three years. The salary range for this position is AUD $110,059 - $145,730 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The successful candidate will be based at the Kensington campus in Sydney, Australia.

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in experimental quantum information processing, including experience with high-frequency instrumentation and programming languages such as Python or MATLAB. A demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations is also essential. **Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, or related area. Previous postdoctoral experience in relevant areas of research is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record in the operation of solid-state quantum computing hardware, especially coherent quantum control at microwave frequencies.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB, with experience in data analysis and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
