About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opening for a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate position in our Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications School. The successful candidate will join our team led by Professor Andrea Morello, renowned for their breakthroughs in quantum information processing with spins in silicon.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new theory for quantum information processing in high-dimensional systems and informing future directions for the experimental effort.

Responsibilities
  • Develop original theory in the field of quantum information processing and quantum error correction.
  • Apply quantum information theory to practical experimental platforms.
  • Conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences.
Requirements
  • PhD in Quantum Physics, Quantum Engineering, or related area.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing original research directions in quantum information theory.
  • Experience in day-to-day supervision of PhD and undergraduate students (Senior Research Associate level).
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary package: AUD $123,620 - $145,730 per annum + 17% superannuation (Level B) or AUD $110,059 - $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation (Level A).
