As a specialist in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling, you will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights and outputs that support business decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain advanced modelling processes for natural hazard budgeting, reinsurance program optimisation, and allocation.">
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely preparation of data used in natural hazard and reinsurance modelling.">
  • Deliver technical modelling outputs and insights to stakeholders within agreed timeframes and quality standards.">
  • Collaborate with experts to identify opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify modelling and analytical workflows.">
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to ensure modelling advice aligns with evolving business needs.">
">Requirements:">
  • 5+ years experience in financial services, ideally with exposure to general insurance.">
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail.">
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, and SAS; Python experience desirable.">
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills.">
  • Ability to manage small to medium projects independently.">
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.">
  • Near-completion or recently qualified Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia (or equivalent) desired.">
