Job Title: Head of CAPA Faculty and Extra Curricular Performance

Job Summary:

Mt. Annan Christian College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced educator to lead our CAPA Faculty and oversee our Extra Curricular Performance programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the CAPA Faculty, providing active leadership for all staff involved in teaching or supporting the faculty, and creating effective teams to inspire and motivate students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and Manage the CAPA Faculty: Model best practice in teaching, implement and design curriculum that meets the needs of students and NESA, monitor student achievement and teacher effectiveness, and ensure fair and effective assessment procedures.
  2. Provide Active Leadership: Mentor, collaborate, and share information to motivate staff and encourage continuous improvement in the quality of learning and teaching.
  3. Create Effective Teams: Inspire and motivate students and staff in the Extra Curricular Performance space, and be a positive role model for other staff and students.
  4. Lead Contemporary Learning Practices: Enhance student achievement and performance across all CAPA courses, and lead the ongoing development of differentiated pedagogy, authentic learning, and assessment.
  5. Qualifications and Experience: Qualification in Education and registration with the NSW Institute of Teachers, outstanding record teaching HSC Music, experience leading and overseeing music programs and extra curricular performance, and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

  • NESA accreditation and a current WWCC approval number

  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with staff, students, parents, and professional networks
