Job Opportunity:

The Coordinator Traffic and Transport role is responsible for leading the Council's traffic and transport program, delivering strategic leadership to build a proactive service that achieves an efficient, safe, and integrated transport environment.

  • Develop effective traffic management strategies to reduce congestion and improve road safety outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice on traffic and transport matters to stakeholders, including Councillors, Members of Parliament, government departments, and the community.
  • Prepare high-quality concept designs for civil infrastructure projects and administer the Council Traffic Advisory Committee.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain knowledge of development application procedures and reporting requirements.
Requirements:

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A current Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Construction Induction (White Card) certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in local government traffic and/or related fields.

Additionally, you will require excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work on multiple projects with strong time management skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid arrangement with flexible start and finish times.
