Job Title: Traffic and Transport Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver a proactive traffic and transport program in a local government area. As a Traffic and Transport Specialist, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to build an efficient, safe, and integrated transport environment.

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Civil/Civil & Environmental Engineering, a current Class C Drivers Licence, and Construction Induction (White Card). They will also have minimum 5 years' experience in local government traffic and/or related fields, as well as demonstrated experience in administering the Council Traffic Advisory Committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to improve traffic flow and safety in the local government area.
  • Advocate for Sustainable Transport: Advocate for funding opportunities to support active and sustainable transport initiatives.
  • Design and Deliver Projects: Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure road works projects.
  • Report and Analyze Data: Prepare high-quality reports on traffic and transport issues, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Provide expert advice on traffic and road safety issues, and advise on strategic plans and legal proceedings.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Civil & Environmental Engineering.
  • Drivers Licence: Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Construction Induction: Construction Induction (White Card).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in local government traffic and/or related fields.
  • Committee Experience: Demonstrated experience in administering the Council Traffic Advisory Committee.
