Job Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader to head and deliver our traffic and transport program.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, building a proactive service, delivering an efficient, safe, and integrated transport environment in our Local Government Area.

This role involves advocating for and seeking funding for active and sustainable transport opportunities, working closely with stakeholders on traffic and transport issues.

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality concept designs for civil infrastructure road works, developing policy proposals, and providing advice on traffic and road safety issues.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Civil & Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Construction Induction (White Card).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in local government traffic and/or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in administering the Council Traffic Advisory Committee.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with stakeholders on traffic and transport issues.
  • Experience in preparing high-quality concept designs for civil infrastructure road works.
  • Extensive knowledge of development application procedures and reporting.
  • Understanding of traffic engineering modeling software, GIS mapping software, CAD software.
  • Ability to provide advice on traffic and road safety issues pertaining to strategic plans and legal proceedings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources and promote a team environment to achieve team objectives.
