As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the electrical aspects of our construction projects are delivered according to contract requirements and best practices. We are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Engineer who can oversee the electrical balance of plant design from sub-contractors, review primary and secondary electrical design drawings and documentation against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance, and best practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Design Management: Oversee the electrical balance of plant design from sub-contractors and ensure it meets contract requirements.
  • Design Review: Review primary and secondary electrical design drawings and documentation against contractual obligations, industry standards, safety compliance, and best practice.
  • Component Selection: Review component selections to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Design Interface Coordination: Coordinate design interfaces with Project Civil Engineer and other discipline leads.
  • Safety in Design Reviews: Coordinate Safety in Design Reviews to ensure all designs meet safety standards.
  • Payment Milestone Management: Collate required information from sub-contractors for payment milestones and advise site and project managers on completion status.
  • Quality Assurance Inspections: Perform QA inspections on electrical scopes of work, including factory acceptance tests.
  • Inspection and Test Plans: Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and test results or report ITRs for electrical scopes of work.
  • Progress Reporting: Report on the progress of inspections/tests and QA/QC submissions.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical queries, variations, and payment claims are assessed promptly.
  • Commissioning Support: Support commissioning activities to ensure smooth handover to operations.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering: Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • CPEng Registration: Be able to gain CPEng registration as granted by Engineers Australia.
  • Management Experience: Have experience managing subcontractors and designers in a site-based construction environment.
  • Electrical Design Experience: Have experience reviewing electrical design in a construction environment, preferably on wind farms.
  • Negotiation Skills: Possess strong negotiation skills to work with major stakeholders, clients, and contractors.
  • Risk Awareness: Demonstrate commercial and risk awareness to operate within a high-pressure environment.
