The Assistant Production Manager plays a pivotal part in ensuring site success, encompassing:

  • Close collaboration with the Production Manager to drive daily operations with a planning horizon of at least one day
  • Maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by identifying and mitigating potential safety issues
  • Adherence to established business processes, including enterprise planning, time, and staff management, as well as ecommerce systems on a daily basis
  • Flexibility to adapt to rotating rosters
  • Leading daily directional setting (DDS) meetings to enhance performance, focusing on continuous improvement of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team well-being
  • Quarterly performance assessments for team leaders and members
  • Communication and resolution of site maintenance issues with the Production Manager
  • Feedback provision to stakeholders on product and service quality
  • Performance oversight of Crew Members, providing coaching, feedback, and addressing concerns
  • Contribution to building and sustaining a cooperative and supportive team environment
  • Assumption of critical functions of other APMs in their absence
  • Engagement in hands-on activities like production, processing, and packing to demonstrate leadership by example
