About the Role

The Bernardi Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nightfill Duty Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the store during nightfill hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the main functions in each department are in order, including milk, bread, meat, deli, and customer service.
  • Manage and mentor the nightfill team to achieve expected standards and keep everyone on task.
  • Implement and maintain store procedures as per the Bernardi Group standard.
  • Ensure the service departments, including customer service and deli, are fully operational and providing excellence in customer service.
  • Ensure all employees have been allocated and are undertaking their required duties.
  • Ensure the store is looking clean and tidy at all times, with all ladders and rubbish trolleys kept to a minimum in the aisles.
  • Store cleanliness in general, including entrance and carpark bins, cardboard and plastic crushed, and warehouse left in good shape for next day.
  • Ensure stock levels in each department are of the Bernardi Group standard, with special attention to fast-moving sections such as fresh departments.
  • Undertake store walks at strategic times of the day to ensure tasks are completed and departments are up to standard.
  • Deal with customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Ability to undertake emergency procedures as required.
  • Work with and beside employees in various departments to develop a full knowledge of what is expected and provide support as required.
  • Undertake all customer service duties, including till operation, providing excellent customer service, and balancing of cash register as required.
  • Accountable for ensuring all cash registers are locked in the safe and accurate dispensing of change as required.
  • Opening and/or closing of store if required, with security around this process.
  • Ensure 2 employees assist with the lock up of the store, with no groceries carried out at this time.
  • Understand fridge alarms and how to locate and fix.
  • Mentor, coach, and assist team members in their roles within the business to achieve their professional and personal goals.
  • Ensure a happy workplace where people love to come and work.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with:

  • Recent relevant retail experience.
  • First Aid certificate.
  • Food safety Certificate.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Current WorkCover Fork Lift (LF) Truck ticket/licence - desirable.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience of managing retail outlets.
  • Management experience or ability to give direction, lead, and coach team members.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently to a set routine and be thorough with procedures.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail or ability to identify an issue and fix it.
