About This Role

In this pivotal position, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the clinical governance of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services. Key to their success will be conducting Annual Performance Reviews and developing and implementing clinical models of care aligned with best practices and quality improvement.

The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-quality medical and health care services. The Head of Department will also ensure efficient and effective use of allocated resources in line with organisational objectives and Clinical Services Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Governance: Oversee the clinical governance of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services.
  • Enhance Patient Flow: Ensure timely and effective interaction among team members, Emergency Department admissions, Allied Health, and other staff to minimise Length of Stay for patients.
  • Leadership and Communication: Disseminate critical information for decision-making and action within the department and represent the team at site and area meetings.
About You

You are a dedicated and experienced medical professional who should be a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists or hold other specialist recognition as provided for under the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Your commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical governance is evident in your professional journey.
