Payroll Specialist Role Overview

This is a contract position responsible for overseeing the implementation of new payroll systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the project, defining objectives, setting timelines, and allocating resources
  • Coordinate delivery with internal, external, and global stakeholders
  • Oversee data cleansing, migration, and validation while ensuring configuration and testing
  • Manage change, training, communication, and post-go-live support to drive adoption

Compliance Focus:

  • Interpret agreements, awards, and clauses for proper capture and payment
  • Set up system infrastructure for error-free payroll calculations alongside vendors
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks for accuracy, security, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, security measures, and legal requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide training to stakeholders and end-users for successful software adoption

Team Collaboration:

Report to Payroll Responsible, collaborating with Payroll Coordinators, Global BT, Country HR Manager, and Finance team. Engage with internal retail and external stakeholders regularly to ensure compliance, efficiency, and successful rollout.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Skilled in overseeing payroll operations with precision, accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
  • Knowledgeable about tax laws, wage regulations, and labour policies for compliance and accurate payments
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams and drive collaboration
  • Proactive problem-solvers with a results-oriented mindset
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership and communication skills
