About the Role

The Complex Care Team at Kirinari Community Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Central West region. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to individuals with complex needs, focusing on trauma-informed care and trauma recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote the well-being and independence of clients
  • Provide direct support to clients in various settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, and community centers
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Contribute to a strength-based, non-punitive, therapeutic model of care that prioritizes client safety and growth
  • Work with clients of all ages who have complex trauma and behavioral support needs
Requirements
  • Qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) or equivalent
  • Strong interest in youth work, mental health, and the disability industry
  • Understanding of strength-based trauma-informed practice framework
  • Understanding of the NSW Child Safe Standards
  • Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is highly regarded
  • Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends, and public/school holidays with significant availability
  • Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
  • Ability to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement
  • Complete a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari)
  • Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programs
  • Smart Phone
  • Current Driver's Licence
