About this role

We are seeking a motivated and driven individual to fill the position of Duty Manager.

As the first point of contact for internal and external guests, you will be responsible for leading the Guest Service Officers in delivering exceptional customer service experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality and looking to take on a leadership role.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in front office operations, with experience in managing hotel operations and providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the Guest Service Officers team to deliver exceptional customer service experiences
  • Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the hotel's Front Office operations
  • Maintaining guest room inventory
  • Couching and training employees to reflect Hyatt Place Service Standards and Procedures
  • Performing all tasks of a Front Office Staff as needed to facilitate service
  • Ensuring all operations and cash handling are done per policies and procedures
  • Maintaining information on prices, rates, specials, packages, programs, etc, while ensuring all staff are trained in all areas
  • Analyzing, investigating, and resolving guest complaints
  • Insuring proper staffing levels for customer service goals
  • Managing hotel operations in the absence of senior leadership team

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A relevant degree in Hospitality
  • Previous experience as Duty Manager or Team Leader in Front Office
  • Previous experience using OPERA PMS
  • Knowledge of Outlook and Word
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through the ability to train, motivate and develop your Front Office team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management with the ability to juggle multiple demands
  • Adaptable and able to solve problems quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and improve customer service with both internal and external customers
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude and the ability to work a flexible 24/7 day roster
