Job Summary

The University of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist and Data Manager to join the Palliative Aged Care Outcomes Program (PACOP) team. As a key member of the PACOP team, you will be responsible for leading data management activities, analyzing and reporting on a national resident, family and carer outcomes dataset, and overseeing the activities of the PACOP data team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Develop and implement data management strategies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the PACOP dataset.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report on the national resident, family and carer outcomes dataset to inform quality improvement initiatives and support decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the PACOP data team in maintaining and developing the PACOP dataset and outputs through quality improvement, methodological innovation, and technological change.

Requirements

  • Education: A relevant degree with a strong mathematical/statistical component, preferably at postgraduate level.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in data management, project management, and data analysis and modeling with large datasets using SAS and R.
  • Skills: Experience with automated workflows, such as integrating statistical results into other environments, and a broad understanding of the Australian health and/or aged care systems.
