This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced IP Lawyer to join a team providing transactional services in the area of intellectual property. The successful candidate will report directly to the Special Counsel, Transactional, and will be responsible for providing timely and accurate advice to clients on the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property rights.

The role involves advising clients on confidential information and drafting confidentiality agreements, particularly those related to the protection of intellectual property rights. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the marketing and business development of the commercial function, as well as preparing documentation acceptable to IP Australia and related IP work such as IP due diligence and some Australian Consumer Law advice.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in intellectual property, technology, or general commercial contracts. They should also have exposure and knowledge of contract, commercial, and intellectual property law, as well as experience in stakeholder management and client relationship skills. A desire for challenging and interesting work and a willingness to help others commercialise their intellectual property are essential qualities for this role.

Key areas of work and responsibilities:
  • Providing timely and accurate advice to clients in relation to the protection and commercialisation of intellectual property rights.
  • Advising on confidential information and drafting confidentiality agreements.
  • Contributing to the marketing and business development of the commercial function.
  • Preparing documentation acceptable to IP Australia and related IP work.
