About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join our Collaborative Robotics team at Swinburne University of Technology. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions for industrial and production processes, leveraging the capabilities of cobotic systems.

As a Research Fellow, you will be responsible for leading research projects, supervising postgraduate students, and actively contributing to the research community within the university and across Australia. You will also have the opportunity to work with a broader team of researchers across Australia, focusing on collaborative robotics.

The position is supported by the Australian Research Council's Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Collaborative Robotics in Advanced Manufacturing program, which offers a training program with a strong emphasis on professional development and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement practical solutions in real-world scenarios, utilizing strong technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Contribute to research projects, identifying and tracking milestones, reporting on progress, and identifying barriers to completion.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-institution research team, with a proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain strong written and oral communication skills for scholarly publications, technical reports, and project documentation.
  • Work in industrial settings and/or within regulatory or compliance-driven environments, with a preference for experience in quality control.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a doctoral qualification in a related field, with proven knowledge of research techniques and methodologies in robotics, mechatronics, IoT, digital product and/or systems design, systems engineering, or digital manufacturing.
