Forensic Mental Health Specialist

Work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist forensic mental health services. You will be based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre, providing 75 prison-based custodial mental health beds and assessments for mentally disordered patients/prisoners.

  • Deliver high-level clinical psychological expertise to Forensicare services.
  • Provide complex clinical advice; complete psychological reports for court as required.
  • Contribute to special projects, committees, and working parties within the organisation.
  • Participate in training and supervision of psychology placement students, interns, registrars, and staff of other disciplines where appropriate.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
  • Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by AHPRA in the area of clinical and/or forensic psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-level services in forensic mental health and related settings.
  • Experience in clinical forensic mental health practice including forensic assessments and intervention with offenders.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent.
