Forensic Mental Health Occupational Therapy Specialist

This position involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with individuals to reduce engagement in criminogenic occupations and minimise the presence of occupational risk factors.
- Take a leading role within the clinical team on occupational performance issues, functional skill development, and promoting engagement in meaningful occupations.
- Contribute to positive consumer outcomes through the use of occupational therapy specific assessment and intervention.
- Develop and maintain strategic plans for occupational therapy services.
- Collaborate with external agencies to ensure ongoing development of occupational therapy services.
To succeed in this role you will require:
- An approved degree in occupational therapy and current registration with AHPRA.
- Knowledge and understanding of the OT Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists Code of Ethics.
- Highly developed skills in forensic mental health and knowledge of mentally ill people's needs.
- A solid conceptual understanding of theories of occupational performance including the Model of Human Occupation.
