Clinical Health Practitioner Role

The Clinical Health Practitioner will provide high-quality mental health assessments, treatment planning, and interventions to children and young people aged 0-17 with severe and complex mental health issues.

This role involves participating in on-call rosters during business hours and extended hours services as part of the Acute Response Team. The practitioner will also be required to work collaboratively with other teams, including emergency departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address client needs.
  • Provide crisis management and intervention services as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in on-call rosters and extended hours services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong clinical skills in child, adolescent, and family mental health, including crisis management and triage.
  • Knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches for this target population.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to achieve deadlines.
  • Registration or membership with the relevant authority or association within Australia.
  • Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Blue card requirement due to working with children.
