This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical skill, particularly in child, adolescent, and family mental health.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for providing assessment, formulation, crisis management, treatment planning, and intervention to children and young people aged 0-17 with severe and complex mental health problems or at risk of becoming so.

You will participate in supporting the Ipswich Emergency Department as part of the on-call roster during business hours and extended hours services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical skills in child, adolescent, and family mental health, including crisis and triage management.
  • Knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches for this target population.
  • Strong communication skills to provide a professional and flexible service to clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist and understand the needs of other team members and communicate effectively.
  • Effective self-management skills, including time management, documentation, prioritization, and delegation.
Requirements
  • Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases is required.
  • Qualification and registration with the appropriate authority within Australia must be provided prior to commencement.
  • A blue card is required due to the involvement of health services with children.
