Career Opportunities for Mental Health Professionals

This role provides high-quality mental health assessment, formulation, crisis and risk management, treatment planning, and brief intervention to children and young people aged 0 to 17 years who have severe and complex mental health problems or are at risk of becoming so.

Key responsibilities include participating in providing support to emergency departments as part of the on-call roster during business hours and extended hours services as part of the acute response team on-call roster during business hours and extended hours services.

About You
  • You will possess clinical skills in child, adolescent and family mental health, including crisis and triage management.
  • You will have knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches for this target population.
  • You will demonstrate strong communication skills, providing clients, families and stakeholders with a professional and flexible service that meets their needs.
  • You will be able to assist and understand the needs of other team members and communicate with all team members appropriately.
  • You will have effective self-management skills in relation to time management, documentation, prioritisation and delegation to achieve deadlines.
Mandatory Requirements
  • You must be vaccinated against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia.
  • This role involves health, counselling and support services that include children and will require a blue card.
