Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Heritage Professional to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our heritage advisory group, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the preservation and adaptive re-use of Australia's built heritage.

This is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality heritage assessments and reporting, and has a strong working knowledge of Western Australian and national heritage legislation, policies, and statutory planning processes.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing informed, strategic, and practical leadership on a wide range of heritage matters, including:

  • Heritage assessments and significance studies
  • Conservation Management Plans (CMPs)
  • Heritage Impact Statements (HISs)
  • Interpretation planning and storytelling
  • Archival recording and analysis
  • Architectural conservation supervision
  • Expert witness services where required
Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert advice on heritage-related projects and initiatives
  2. Develop and implement effective strategies for heritage conservation and management
  3. Lead and mentor junior staff members in the delivery of heritage reports and projects
  4. Prepare winning proposals and tenders to secure new opportunities and strengthen client relationships
  5. Represent the firm in professional forums, public engagements, and industry events
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Heritage Conservation, or a closely related discipline
  • 7+ years of professional experience in heritage advisory, planning, or conservation
  • Advanced appreciation of Australian historical architecture, construction methods, and traditional building fabric
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality heritage assessments and reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of Western Australian and national heritage legislation, policies, and statutory planning processes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
