Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialist support to ensure operations are carried out in accordance with environmental approvals requirements and management systems.

About the Role:

  • The Environmental Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for monitoring activities to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • They will lead/participate in environmental auditing and reporting, providing support to the Production HSE Team leader and Production Manager to implement improvement measures.
  • The role involves assisting with the development of safety training programs, hazard/risk reduction initiatives, and incident investigations.
  • Additionally, the specialist will participate in risk assessment workshops, monitor incident databases, and write/review HSE plans and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities include providing guidance on annual compliance reports, conducting technical reviews of 3rd party environmental monitoring reports, and reporting notifiable environmental incidents or dangerous occurrences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure operational activities adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Auditing and Reporting: Lead/participate in environmental auditing and reporting processes.
  • Safety Training: Assist in developing and implementing safety training programs.
  • Incident Investigations: Participate in incident investigations and monitor close-out reports.
  • Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessment workshops and provide input on hazard/risk reduction initiatives.
  • HSE Planning: Write/review and assist in revising HSE-specific plans and procedures.
  • Compliance Reporting: Provide guidance on annual compliance reports and conduct technical reviews of 3rd party reports.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Report notifiable environmental incidents or dangerous occurrences to regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in environmental sustainability, preferably in an oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
