Job Opportunity:

The position available is for a skilled Pastoral Care Practitioner to work within an established framework providing spiritual and pastoral care support to residents, their families, and staff at a residential aged care facility.

About the Role:

  • Provide spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities.
  • As required, provide spiritual care support to residents' family members and to staff.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Help shape the provision of spiritual and pastoral care of residents, families, and staff.
  2. Ensure diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge, and skill.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, or similar.
  • Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent; recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, healthcare, or community care.
  • Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership, and facilitation of meaningful rituals.
  • Eligibility for SCA certified membership.
