About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Room Leader (internally known as Pod Manager) to work at our centre in Shellharbour, NSW. This is a newly created role and will be an exciting opportunity for an experienced Room Leader to step up in an operational leadership position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and leadership to the Room Leaders in your respective areas.
  • Work closely with the Educational Leader to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans.
  • Identify the training and development needs of the Room Leaders and work with the Educational Leader to implement relevant training programs.
  • Ensure that all documentation and records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with children and families at the service.
  • Provide support to the Program Manager/Educational Leader as assigned.
Requirements
  • A completed Diploma or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA equivalent).
  • Ideally at least 3 years in the Room Leader position.
  • A high level of understanding of the National Quality Standard and National Framework and working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Adequate knowledge of stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and cultural development of children as well as the health, hygiene and nutrition needs of children.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and mentoring a team of staff and working in partnerships with families.
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • A cleared Employee Working with Children's Check (WWCC).
  • A current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate.
