About the Role

Babcock is seeking a motivated IT Technical Support Specialist to provide first-line support for our corporate computing environment, Picasso.

This exciting opportunity allows you to develop your technical skills and make a real impact within a dynamic and supportive team.

You will be the first point of contact for users, offering technical advice and troubleshooting on hardware and software issues.

Your role will involve resolving client problems efficiently and ensuring users are kept updated on the status of their issues.

You will monitor and log all reported problems, liaising with suppliers and other members of the IT team to ensure timely resolutions.

Additionally, you will help maintain and update the Helpdesk manual and work closely with management to identify opportunities for product enhancements and training needs.

The position operates on a rotating roster, with 4 days on and 4 days off, including weekends, working 10-hour shifts.

For half of the year, the shift hours will be from 5am to 3pm, and for the other half, from 7am to 5pm, adjusted for daylight savings.

This schedule is ideal for those who are studying, as it offers flexibility to balance both work and academic commitments.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Australian Citizenship and a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Experience working in a Service Delivery environment.
  • Experience resolving problems/queries relating to PC's, laptops, printers, LAN, Videoconference, and other IT and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined IT environment.
