Vault Cloud is a highly secure and scalable sovereign cloud capability provider to the Australian Government, National Intelligence Community and Critical Infrastructure sector.

We have pioneered the development of Australia's only sovereign, hyperscale cloud with security at its core. This has led to us being one of the first cloud organisations to be certified by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and we continue to drive innovation in delivering First of a Kind capability across the sector.

Our growth strategy includes a strategic investment from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC), which will scale Vault's SECRET Cloud and introduce new services such as the AUKUS cloud capability. This will directly address Australia's strategic national security demands.

As part of our expansion, we are bolstering our Engineering team in Canberra by adding numerous key roles that are integral to our future success. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud Operations Specialist to take charge of an array of Vault tooling (SOC, NOC, ITSM, CMDB, MDM, Identity, VDI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the strategy, roadmap, and development of Vault's core operations tooling.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to deliver innovative, high-security solutions.
  • Serving as the next escalation point for Level 1 support: resolve or escalate efficiently.
  • Implement configuration changes with precision and maintain service relationships.
  • Collaborate with product teams in a DevOps environment to deploy and enhance products.
  • Drive continuous improvement through application maintenance and process enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Australian citizenship with eligibility for an Australian Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting Linux environments, including proficiency in Bash and/or Python.
  • Hands-on expertise in one or more areas: Cloud Infrastructure (OpenStack experience is advantageous), Networking (Cisco, Cumulus, Fortinet is advantageous), Containers & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps & Monitoring Tools (JIRA, GitLab, Elastic, Terraform, FreeIPA, Grafana, etc.), Automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins).
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call roster, supporting occasional after-hours maintenance or critical incident response.
  • Prior experience in a mission-critical operations role.
  • A passion for technology and security.
