Application Operations Engineer

Due to Vault's ongoing growth and commitment to delivering secure cloud solutions, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Application Operations Engineer to join our Operations team to take charge of an array of Vault tooling (SOC, NOC, ITSM, CMDB, MDM, Identity, VDI), shaping the foundation of our product strategy, roadmap, and development.
The role is based in our Canberra office and will play a crucial role in collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network solutions in highly classified environments of national significance.
You will be responsible for: Managing key Vault tooling (SOC, NOC, ITSM, CMDB, MDM, Identity, VDI) to shape product strategy, roadmap, and development.
Leading a cross-functional team to deliver innovative, high-security solutions that address customer needs.
Serving as the next escalation point for Level 1 tickets, ensuring efficient resolution or escalation to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Executing configuration changes on Vault systems while maintaining accurate service relationships.
Collaborating with product teams in a Dev Ops environment to deploy and enhance products in line with operational requirements.
Driving continuous improvement through application maintenance and process enhancements.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with: The scope of this role requires an Australian Government Security Clearance; therefore, applicants must be Australian Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Experience supporting Linux environments, including proficiency in Bash and/or Python.
Hands-on expertise in one or more areas: Cloud Infrastructure (Open Stack experience is advantageous).
Networking (Cisco, Cumulus, Fortinet is advantageous).
Containers & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Dev Ops & Monitoring Tools (JIRA, Git Lab, Elastic, Terraform, Free IPA, Grafana, etc.).
Automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins).
Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
Prior experience in a mission-critical operations role.
