About Our Client

Our client is a leading construction company with a strong presence in Australia, operating from modern offices in Fortitude Valley. With a history of growth and diversification, they have established themselves as a market leader in their space.

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to oversee the month-end reporting process for the Group, working closely with the Financial Controller and CFO to ensure accuracy and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reconciling balance sheets
  • Leading the month-end close and collaborating with the team to reduce timelines while maintaining accuracy
  • Managing financial compliance matters for the Group, including GST, FBT, and Payroll Tax
  • Monitoring financial performance and proposing improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Participating in the annual audit process with external auditors
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A recognized Accounting qualification in Australia
  • Experience working in a complex group function with consolidations and intercompany transactions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • A business services background in public practice will be highly regarded
