Safety Management Specialist Role

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious professional to assist in the development, implementation, and administration of our Safety Management System. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, enhance Health and Safety standards, and drive a culture of safety within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the overall growth of HSE capabilities throughout all levels of the organisation
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Building Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers, suppliers, and contractors
  • Promote collaboration between key stakeholders to develop practical and effective solutions to site safety and document safer HSE systems and processes
  • Identify and facilitate safety-related training and provide practical safety solutions aligned with business priorities
  • Investigate HSE incidents and provide feedback to the HSE Manager
  • Conduct site safety inspections and audits on construction sites, as well as assist and coordinate external audits
  • Assist with subcontractor management, including documentation, audits, reviews, and meetings
  • Provide proactive safety leadership to stakeholders to drive the right safety culture and behaviours

Requirements:

  • Minimum Cert IV in Safety or considerable practical safety experience (tertiary qualifications in HSE will be highly regarded)
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation with an ability to translate this into practical safety solutions on site
  • Passion for safety and ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Sound understanding and experience in conducting incident investigations
  • Ability to mentor, upskill, and deliver training to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability and willingness to hold people accountable and conduct challenging conversations in a constructive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage deadlines
