Domestic Violence Support Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Domestic Violence Support Specialist. This role provides an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of women and children affected by domestic violence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support services to clients, including case management, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate resources. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those affected by domestic violence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed case management services to clients
- Build strong relationships with clients, prioritizing their safety and empowerment
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of client needs, risks, and goals
- Develop and implement individualized case plans in collaboration with clients
- Facilitate access to support services, community resources, and advocate on behalf of clients where needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records
- Monitor and review case plans to ensure responsiveness to changing needs or goals
- Identify and report risks and service gaps, escalating concerns to the Team Leader as required
- Participate in service improvement initiatives and meet key performance indicators within required timeframes
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare (Social Sciences), Community Development, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in case management within the family violence sector
- Experience working with women and children affected by domestic violence is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and child well-being
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with ability to work independently
- Current driver's license
- Valid Working with Children Check
